Mike’s Summer Holidays.

It is summer and it is very hot. The pupils are on holidays. They have no lessons at school. They can rest and play all day long. Many of them are not in town. They are at the camp, in the forest, near the sea, in the village or in the mountains. They are happy.

Mike is not happy this summer. He likes the sea and the forest. He can swim very well. But his mum and dad cannot take him to the seaside. They are busy at work.

Mike is sad. He can only walk in the park with his dog. He has nobody else to play with.

Once on Saturday the phone rings. It is Mike’s granny. She lives in a village. There she has got a big house with a large garden around it. She has got many animals and she is very busy in summer with all this.

But she also knows Mike is lonely and unhappy this summer. She invites Mike to come to her village.

Now Mike is happy. He loves his granny and he likes her village. On Sunday Mike’s dad can take him to the village. Mike’s dog can go with him and they can spend the whole summer there.
